New Restaurants in Weymouth, MA: Fall 2026 Openings and Closings

In 2026, the address 39 Trotter Road in South Weymouth turned up in two separate restaurant stories. In February, Boston Restaurant Talk reported that a Vietnamese coffee shop called Saigonesee was coming to the address. In September, the same blog reported that the South Weymouth OTTO Pizza, also listed at 39 Trotter Road, had closed.

That one address shows how Weymouth's food scene is changing this year. The news isn't coming from new construction on empty land. It's coming from familiar buildings. A former car dealership lot is becoming a coffee drive-through. A steakhouse is keeping its name and taking out its interior. A North Weymouth restaurant now calls itself a marketplace. Even the high school café is part of it, opening for a new school year. If you live here, most of what's new this fall is at a place you've already driven past.

Trotter Road: a coffee counter arrives and a pizza spot leaves

Saigonesee's own site advertised a soft opening for Friday, June 12, 2026, at 8 a.m. The shop serves phin coffee, the Vietnamese slow-drip method, along with pastries, banh mi and spring rolls. Boston Restaurant Talk added a July 3 update to its original post saying it had heard the shop was open. The soft-opening date is the shop's own, and the July note confirms it was serving by early summer.

OTTO Pizza's South Weymouth location went the other way. Boston Restaurant Talk reported the closure on September 8, 2026, but didn't give a last day. The two stories don't say whether the businesses were next door to each other, in separate units, or in some other arrangement. What they do show is that one address added a morning coffee stop and lost a pizza counter within a few months.

A dealership lot on Main Street becomes a coffee drive-through

The 7 Brew going up at 211 Main Street shows the same pattern on a larger scale. The site used to be Weymouth Honda. On September 27, 2026, The Patriot Ledger reported that construction had started. Earlier in September, MassLive covered 7 Brew's plans for more Massachusetts locations and described it as a fast-growing drive-through chain offering more than 20,000 drink combinations.

As of MassLive's September 18 report, no exact opening date had been announced. So for now, 7 Brew is something to watch for. When it opens, Weymouth will have two new coffee options from 2026 that work in very different ways. One is a slow-drip Vietnamese café on Trotter Road. The other is a high-volume drive-through on Main Street.

Stockholders keeps its name and starts over inside

Stockholders Steakhouse at 1073 Main Street in South Weymouth has the biggest change of the year. Kevin Hynes, founder of Hynes Restaurant Group, has taken back ownership after selling the business to several of its employees, according to What Now Boston on September 11, 2026. The restaurant has closed temporarily. It will keep the Stockholders name and its steak-and-seafood focus.

Hynes told the outlet, "We plan on gutting the whole restaurant, make it completely different," and added that "when people walk in, they will not recognize the old Stockholders." Demolition is already underway, and the restaurant is expected back in spring 2027.

Stockholders first opened under Hynes Restaurant Group in 2010. Its menu over the years included Roasted Prime Rib, the Cowboy Ribeye, Smoky Bacon-Wrapped Scallops and Lobster Mac & Cheese. Hynes said the new menu will be completely different. If you've planned birthdays or anniversaries around Stockholders, it will be closed through the holidays. When it reopens in spring, it will look and eat like a new restaurant, even though the sign stays the same.

The ownership group that's leaving thanked the community in a Facebook post: "it has been such a privilege to serve Weymouth and the South Shore during that time."

Weymouth Landing and the high school add breakfast and lunch

Two of the new options are daytime meals, and both are in places that were already part of town life.

Nana's Eats & Treats opened May 26, 2026, at 33 Washington Street in Weymouth Landing. It serves breakfast and lunch, including pancakes, omelets, sandwiches, wings and baked treats. It opened a little before summer, but it's still one of the newest places for a sit-down breakfast in this part of town.

Wildcat Bakery and Wildcat Café at Weymouth High School are run by students in the school's career and technical education program, and the school lists them among its community offerings. The bakery reopened September 30, 2026, and the café is scheduled to reopen October 7. The school posts separate bakery and café menus, notes a limited number of café entrées each day, and keeps school-year hours. Before you go, check the school's Wildcat page for current hours.

A long run ends on Washington Street

Mad Hatter Restaurant at 969 Washington Street closed for good on August 29, 2026, MassLive reported. It served Irish-influenced breakfast, lunch and dinner. Mad Hatter moved to Washington Street from 119 Main Street in 2018. Its eight years at 969 Washington Street came after an earlier stretch on Main Street. Nothing reported so far says what will go into that space next.

What to watch on Bridge Street

North Weymouth has the least settled story this fall. True North at 159 Bridge Street now uses the name True North Marketplace on its official website. Its online ordering page currently says no menus are available.

Separately, The Patriot Ledger's September 24, 2026, roundup of South Shore food news mentioned "a delay in the reopening of a North Weymouth restaurant-turned-marketplace." The part of that item we could read doesn't name the business or give a new date. The best way to find out when Bridge Street reopens is the business's own site.

A short checklist for the next few months

  • Coffee on Trotter Road: Saigonesee is open now.
  • Breakfast in the Landing: Nana's Eats & Treats, 33 Washington Street.
  • Lunch at the high school: Wildcat Café is scheduled to reopen October 7, and the bakery is already open.
  • Main Street drive-through: 7 Brew at 211 Main Street, opening date not yet announced.
  • Spring 2027: a fully rebuilt Stockholders at 1073 Main Street.
  • Bridge Street: check True North Marketplace's site for reopening news.

Most of these stories follow a familiar building as it takes on a new purpose, and a house goes through the same kind of change when the people living in it reach a new stage of life. If you're thinking about what your own Weymouth address could become, whether that means preparing a longtime home for sale or finding something easier to maintain nearby, Linda Macdonald is glad to talk it through at your pace.
